All straighteners do some sort of damage to hair, so instead of looking at the straightener first, you need to consider which product to use in your hair to lessen this damage. From personal experience, I would recommend that you purchase John Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum (you should be able to find it at a salon) and a Chi straightener. The Chi has ceramic plates, which are the best type of plates out there. Though the Chi is around $100, it's definitely worth it, and due to the holidays, places like Target and Ulta have lowered the price. I believe tourmaline does! My favorite is flat iron babybliss. Regardless of the kind of flat iron a thermal protectant makes all the difference in the world. I suggest chi iron guard 44. It is amazing!
