What is the difference between a chi straightener and a Pro SSP Digital Ceramic Hair Flat Iron?

Not much, just brand name. Both are ceramic so they will get to very high heat temperatures which will make the hair smoother, shinier and straighter. I know many of my clients like the chi straightener. My favorite is the T3.

What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?

I want to get a really good flat iron, cost isn't really an issue. Can anyone recommend a good one for me? I've heard CHI is good, but I want to know if there is anything better out there. What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
I HAVE A CHI AND HAVE HAD IT FOR MORE THAN 6 YEARS.AND IT WORKS GREAT!!!What is the best ceramic flat iron for hair?
Like everyone said... the chi. I have the bulkiest frizziest thickest hair you can imagine! My friend used it on my hair and it has never been that straight. I couldn't believe it. I saw some online for like 20 bucks once... I doubt they are that cheap though
Yeah, Chi is probably the best, if you're not worried about price. But it also depends on your hair type. If you have a lot of hair, you might want to consider going with a larger iron, such as a 1 and 1/2in or a whole 2in iron. You might want to search amazon to look around, or a store like ';Sally's beauty supplies';. But overall a Chi would probably be the best idea.
use the chi! (#1 best selling ceramic flat iron in america)
it's a CHI. They aren't realy expensice. Just $150 I think
I honestly dont know the con-air left my cousin's hair so soft and straight

Styling products with ceramic, flat iron for hair shine & protection for thick, long, wavy, porous hair.?

Which products work well with corse, thick, long, wavy hair straightened with a ceramic flat iron. My hair is porous and tends to dull quickly. Spraying on shine multiple tiimes a day isn't practical. Any good semi-permanent hair color or glaze that would help condition ?Styling products with ceramic, flat iron for hair shine %26amp; protection for thick, long, wavy, porous hair.?
John Frieda color glaze is a great product for those who are concerned about hair color. It does add color and enhance depth of color, and it makes hair soft and shiny. It does not have a lot of chemicals and fragrances like Clairol and LOREAL!!!! For me, it is the right product, and I suggest trying it.

Give red hair a wakeup call with a dose of deep red color and blazing shine. Luminous Color Glaze turns the light on faded, lackluster hair so it glows with newfound vibrancy and shine in between coloring or anytime hair needs a pick-me-up. In professional salons, glazes are used to revive color and add a high-gloss finish to hair. Luminous Color Glaze delivers the vibrancy and shine of a salon glazing treatment, right in your shower. Now, just shampoo, condition...then glaze!

Luminous Color Glaze is a breakthrough gloss formula that revives color and boosts shine in the shower in just 3 minutes.

For deeper, richer shades of natural, color-treated or highlighted red hair.

If your hair is highlighted, choose the Luminous Color Glaze shade that matches your highlights.

This gentle, non-damaging formula infuses red hair with natural-looking color while imparting multi-dimensional shine and soft, luxurious texture. Contains Color Illuminating Technology鈩? and innovative blend of mild dyes and shine boosters, to reverse color fading and liven up red tones. Luminous Color Glaze is the essential missing step in maintaining ';right from the salon'; vibrancy and shine, all the time. Results are visible with first use and intensify over time.

Start with radiant red庐 shampoo with conditioner. Squeeze excess water out of hair. While still in the shower, smooth Luminous Color Glaze through wet hair distributing evenly from root to tip. Wash hands thoroughly. Leave on for at least three minutes and rinse. Style as usual. I would try using a Paul Mitchell shampoo and conditioner that's right for your hair texture. To protect your hair from damage with the hot tools, I'd use his Super Skinny Serum.

Which ionic ceramic flat iron for hair straighting is the best and cheapest.?

you wont find too many that are cheep i know the best is chi but i would go to sallys like suggest above because the higher priced flat irons are meant for professionals and without the knowledge of how to use one like how long to leave it on the hair you should use a cheaper one that you can find for 20 30 bucks at sally's you are better off so you dont burn off your hair you should also use a shine serum or flat iron serum because i see tooooo many people in my chair with frize and split ends because they dont use anythingWhich ionic ceramic flat iron for hair straighting is the best and cheapest.?
im not sure which one is the best but if you want good quality for cheap prices look for the ';SALLY'S'; nearest you.

Good Luck!!How can I straighten my hair since its thick and nappy to the root with a conair ceramic flat iron. ?
i have a conair too, they straighten pretty good if u do it write

First let me suggest that u get TRESemme Smooth No frizz ultra light shine spray

if u put it on your hair and comb it through before you straighten it prevents frizz, and makes it extra straight

first get all the hair from the top of your head and clip it back

do the hair u have underneath first and take your time.

put hairspray if u want, but i prefer not too

after u have done that, unclip your hair and do the top part, this way it comes out really straight cause u get every strand straight

and do it 2 inches at a time, dont just grab half the hair on ur head
Okay. Put sections of your hair up at a time and straighten them one at a time. Keep on gradually pulling parts of your hair down and straightening them. If that doesnt wok, than you can get layers of your hair cut of at a good barber, Good LUck!
separate your hair into layers:top middle bottom and use clip to keep them apart

then straighten in layers
If u got a perm 4 weeks ago ur hair aint nappy.
hairsprayyy

lots of it.

and dont forget the conditioner :)
well try you avoid heat the leads to brreakage so try a perm or relaxer

I use a ceramic flat iron to keep it from curling?
Hi, I actually read this really good article about it, you'll find more useful information there I'm sure:

http://www.carefair.com/Hair-and-Nails/H鈥?/a>My hair is out of control! I use a ceramic flat iron to keep it from curling?
I have the SAME problem as you, but don't fret here's some ideas.

You can pop in to your local stylist and ask a question, or just come in for a hair cut and ask for tips. One look that I think looks great is if you blow dry your hair (never straighten it, it is really bad for your hair) and then using a two inch curling iron (or a smaller one for tighter curls) make ringlets. Then rub your fingers through your hair and you get loose waves. It takes about half an hour to do and looks great, keeping your hair looking curly, but not frizzy and yuck.

Here are some great shampoos to use if you want to keep your curly hair frizz-free and shining. have really curly hair and really like sunsilk brand, especially the green line. I use all 3 of the green line products, and once a week I use the pink mouse (it comes in a little tub). It is completely non-greasy and doesn't make your hair feel greasy, but it keeps your curls non frizzy. If your hair is more wavy then curly, I'd use the blue line, but the same thing with the pink tub. These products are available at almost all drug stores. CVS, most major Markets, etc. Easy to buy, and about 5 dollars per bottle. If you need to get rid of frizz, I'd recommend it.

Also, don't cut your hair shorter, let it grow longer. The extra weight of your hair will weight it down. I've gone down that route and it just makes it poofy. However, most importantly, make sure you embrace your curly hair. There aren't enough of us out there!
what does everyone have against curls and poof?
Heat can make all that worse. Sounds like damage to me.

Lay off the heat and just condition condition condition and considering in investing in a permanant straightening process at ur salon.
for frizziness try using a serum to put in your hair before straightening it. from all the heat and styling, sounds like your just frying your hair. a good serum is paul mitchells super skinny serum. it makes your hair really shiny and straight and it smells good too :)
yeah i know what you mean i had that problem but i started use different kind of shampoo.....or cut your hair.....i learned that sometimes when it just starts frizzing all a sadden is because slip ends.....i know it suck es and is embarrassing
I have the same issue... if you are in an area with high humidity, you may as well just give up. Or deal with the frizziness, etc. for 1 day and then on the days to follow it will stay straight until you wash it again. I don't know how thick your hair is, but mine is very thick so only wash it every 5 days (I am white).. And let me tell you it gets nicer and flatter and straighter each dirty day that goes by!

Anyway, I had this same problem and it really is all about the products you use. For shampoo and conditioner it doesn't really matter, just make sure you are getting one that deeply conditions your hair because it gets really damaged straightening it.

Then on towel dried hair, you use a blow serum. I love the KIWI line by Loreal. It runs about $10-$15 a product, but it is way worth it!! After it is blown dry, use a serum on your hair like Redken Heat Glide. Then after running the flat iron through it (and you should have a nice one like a Chi..it's expensive for a reason! cause it works!! if you don't want to spend the $150 at the store, buy one off ebay--i got mine there for $60), put a finishing serum in it. I use blow silk by KIWI, but you could use the Biolage Thermasilk or whatever. I am sure this will work for you cause it does for me! Good luck!
why don't u buy a hair protection from iron

u could buy it from anywhere and its not even that expensive.

What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?

Absolutely no question about it--buy a CHI flatiron. Uses heat and ionic technology to break apart the water molecules in your hair as it flattens it. I use a CHI ionic blowdryer too with a flat brush. Nothing works better. Ask any high-end hairdresser, salon or stylist--you can't get these at Supercuts. Pricey--but worth it if you want professionally straightened hair every time. I have very long (mid-to-low back) curly and frizzy blond hair and it gets mine like glassy silk in under 20 minutes wet from the shower (dry and flatiron). Both of my CHI products have withstood very heavy usage and travel bang-ups and still work beautifully. What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
I have the exact same hair as you...use revlon or CHI straightener and use chi oil too! Their oil will cause no burns or split ends! revlon would be in 3rd placethough! What do you reccomend is the best ceramic flat iron for Very curly frizzy hair?
As someone who has used MANY different brands of flat irons on my extremely curly and frizzy hair, I must say that, though the iron does make some difference, your technique is what matters most. You have to be very patient and flat iron your hair in small sections. After using the cheapest flat iron from walmart to a CHI that I borrowed from a spoiled friend, I have found that the benefits of a CHI or other high end flat iron don't make up for the money you have to shell out to get them. I use a $40 remington flat iron from walmart, and nobody believes that I have naturally curly hair unless i wear it curly to prove it. The Conair Infinity series flat irons are really good, too.
    CHI straightner
    GHD's. good luck
Chi ceramic flat iron...with some Iron Guard product. It will be an investment, but a good one.
Chi, they are very good. They don't burn your hair or damage it. I think it's 'round $85-$90.
CHI is the best. My mom's friends is a hair stylist and she recommended the product to me. It costs around $90.
go to a salon a ask them... it will cost a lot of money ( around 100$- 180$)

After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??

I let my hair air dry than I spray the Chi Iron Guard, section and flat iron. It probably doesn't help that I live in south florida and its extremely humid right now. My straight hair last 5 min then it starts to frizz out and its ugly. Any tips? After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??
You have 3 problems here. One your hair is frizzy naturally but also it sounds like you are flat ironing your hair slightly wet and one more is you are burning your hair. I am a professional and what it sounds to me is your hair is burning.

If you use any iron on wet hair it can smoke and burn but also if you use it to long in the hair or to hot it will burn. Use professional products for frizzy and to help it hold before you dry your hair. Then when you use your iron try to find a way to see how hot it is. Meaning with a reg iron you put your finger in the middle of the iron where the hair is thickest and when it gets to hot for your finger it means your hair will start to burn. Burning will always frizz your hair. You then will need a reconstructor treatment to help your hair with the damage you have done. There is no way to fix burned hair but you can make it look better as it grows out. First I would do a gentle deep cleansing by mixing professional shampoo, baking soda and water. Should be like a cake mix batter and run through your hair. But a bag over and use a hair blower to heat your head. Then cover with a towel and let it cool. Do not rinse your hair if it is hot it can make hair break off. You will follow this same procedure for the deep conditioning treatment. A treatment is different then just a good conditioner. It is for repairs not just moisture. I hope this helps, there are great professional products out there for fizzy hair.

Oh one more thing, you can put a defuser on your hair blower that will also help with frizzy hair. And blow dry a warm to cool not hot. After I use the ceramic flat iron my hair looks frizzy. Help??
IF IT IS FRIZZY AFTER YOU STRAIGHTEN THEN YOU MUST BLOCK THE HUMIDITY, UNFORTUNATELY THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS IS .... MORE PRODUCT.... TRY THE SERUM BEFORE YOU STRAIGHTEN AND SOME KIND OF SPRAY AS SOON AS YOU DO A FEW STRANDS.. THAT SHOULD DO IT..
Use a frizz-ease product, like John Frieda Frizz-Ease. A shine spray would be another possibility - it helps tame frizz %26amp; flyaways.
when you use a flat iorn you have to use some typ of surum for your hair you run it thruogh your hair when its damp then blow dry then flat iorn anything anti-frizz since you say that is your prob they have a large selection at any drug store
Use a heat tamer, treseeme has some. Then after you straightened your hair, apply a frizz ease treseemme secret weapon works for me.
when i was in south florida (on holiday, you are so lucky to live there and not in rainy london, uk!) i gave up on straight hair for the daytime and just put a dab of coconut oil in my hair. this, plus the humidity, produced really nice defined curls.

i think air drying is good but you probably still need to blowdry when its 95% dry to take control of it, but just make the room as cool as possible while you do. the texture of my hair wouldn't allow me to straighten it with irons immediately so that could be the problem. unless you have those wet2straight irons?

the big epiphany for me in achieving straght hair was understanding the fact that it was my hair's texture that needed to change, not the fact that it was naturally wavy. if it feels clean and silky it will stay straight. if it feels thick and/or moist, but looks straight, it won't. blowdrying with the right products can dramatically alter the texture of your hair - paul mitchell seal and shine is good, and try phytologie, bumble and bumble or frederic fekkai products.
yea use tresemme heat tamer i use it and i loe it but it doent make my hair to shiny and i havr flyaway too and i want ot ge the anti smooth from tresemme too
what you might want to do is go to a salon and get your tips trimed. make sure that when you flat iron your hair, make sure you iron small amounts of hair at a time. also make sure that you use something good to protect your hair from the heat. i live in florida and know what you're going through cause i've gone through it. try using frizz eaze.
when u ur hair ,u should use olive oil spray because i have hair like that and it works then, u braid it or roll it in a bun and cover it with cloth and go to sleep with it, in the morning u will have great straight hair

use the spray after u straighten ur hair
Try to find a product to use pre-flat ironing that will protect your hair against the heat. Then, make sure your flat iron has ';ions'; in it, which help seal broken/split ends, and result in more flat, shiny, and smooth hair. There are also many products you can use after you straighten your hair, such as Bed Head products, which work very well.
Paul Mitchell Gloss Drops. Great product!

WHICH IS BETTER, CERAMIC OR TITANIUM HAIR FLAT IRONS?

WANT TO KNOW WHAT TO PURCHASE, MY HAIR IS CURLY AND FRIZZY TOO, I WANT A HAIR STRAIGHTNER THAT IS GOING TO LEAVE IT SHINNY AND STRAIGHT WITH NO FRIZZ,...I BOUGHT ONE FOR LIKE 100 DOLLARS LIKE 3YEARS AGO, AND I THINK ITS TIME FOR AN UPGRADED.WHICH IS BETTER, CERAMIC OR TITANIUM HAIR FLAT IRONS?
I have thick, curly hair and my Chi works great for me. However, I'll probably get an Ozon titanium flat iron when this one wears out. It gets super hot (hotter than I need) but has a temperature setting so it can be turned down when needed. It comes with a Cherry Bomb serum and together they take away frizz like you've never experienced before! You can order it online at www.ozonhair.com for $80 which makes it half the cost of my Chi! I've used my friend's and it really is great.

I have Wigo 2 1/4 Flat Iron and I must say I LOVE IT!!! I set my dial to the appropriate number and it works great. Of course CHI Irons are one of the best but also one of the most expensive but maybe you can contact a salon and ask this which they prefer based on your type of hair or the look your going for. Good Luck
it's alright. But your best bet is to invest in a Chi. I consider it the best flat iron on the market. It runs about $140 but it's worth every penny. You get what you pay for.
Wigos break fairly easily, not very reliable, and they fry your hair. All flat irons will fry your hair to a certain extent, but some will do it more than others. If you don't get the flat iron I recommend, at least make sure that it is ceramic, they don't damage your hair as much. When you flat iron your hair, you will also want to use a protective spray/product. I don't know any offhand, but I'm sure you can find a good quality one. The flat iron I have is a 1 3/4 inch (I think), it's a Sedu. I got it off of www.folica.com it's a great site to get flat irons, it's reliable, and much cheaper than if you were to buy it from a salon. CHI's are also phenomenal, not the most reliable, but they work wonders.

Either a CHI, or a Sedu.

    Good luck!

As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

=== Tips for buying professional hair appliances ===

Do NOT buy professional hair appliances from unauthorized places like amazom.com, eBay, Target, Walmart, etc. Because if you do, manufacturers will refuse to honor the warranty. Buy from licensed places like salon, licensed professional beauty stores like Folica.com, Ulta.com, West Coast Beauty Supply Inc. etcWhat is an affordable ceramic flat iron for thick African-American hair?
    manhattan silver bullet titanium

people would say the GHD is better

but actually for thick, curly hair like yours, i would reccomend the silver bullet,

because it has more heat, and it is also cheaper,

google it for more information about itWhat is an affordable ceramic flat iron for thick African-American hair?
I got my Solia a few years back after my Chi broke, it worked great for my hair (and my sister's hair too). The best thing is that Solia has a temperature dial (to adjust temp). Last August my sister went to a college in california, she took the Solia with her. Initially I wanted another Solia, but Jonna (my hair stylist) convinced me to get a Sedu. I did. Sedu is great!.
    okay first of all

buy a straightner that IS NOT SLIM LINE

because ur hair is thick you will need fat plate straightner

any brand would do just as long as you use heat protection

Which is better for your hair titanium or ceramic flat irons?

ive heard that ceramic is the best

but titanium is used more in the higher end irons so im not sure

which damages lessWhich is better for your hair titanium or ceramic flat irons?
its not a chii its a chi. chi flat iron tourmaline ceramics can be pricey, but they do the trick. use a heat protectant like tresseme so you dont ruin and burn your hair. if chis arent in your price range try going to tj maxx. they have good nice cheap ones.Which is better for your hair titanium or ceramic flat irons?
it really depends on your hair type over all no hair Straightener is really good for you i would say a chii is really good cause i have two i like the designs you can buy a chii spray that will pretect your hair or shampoos
Definitely ceramic. titanium will fry your hair.

  • Do straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?

My parents say I'm not allowed to use a flat iron even if it's ceramic or metal. How can I prove to them ceramic flat irons don't burn your hair and are ok to use?Do straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?
My suggestion is to listen to your parents. However, I have had a CHI ceramic iron for more than 2 years and my hair has been the healthiest, considering that I flat iron all of my hair every week once and then touch up every day twice. I can see your parents' concern, but ceramic iron emits ion. So the water molecules get disolved not by heat, but by ion. I use a straightening lotion that protects my hair too. It is called Kiehl's heat protective straightening lotion. Good luck.Do straightning ceramic flat irons burn your hair?
I use a heat lotion from TIGI that makes my hair smell like grape bubble gum! It's fantastic and keeps the burning ';smell'; away.

they do burn with excessive use. If you use,try not to wash every day. Use product from salon designed to go w/ straighting.
Yes--my 15 year old daughter singed a piece of her hair off using a flat iron last year.
the ceramic ones are the best. the metal irons will burn your hair. If you are worried then use heat protecting products, almost every popular line has them. Tresime has one you just spray on wet hair after you are done using your normal shampoo and conditoner
They claim they don't but they do. Anything with heat can burn out your hair. So be careful with using it.
The will if you leave them on your hair for too long. And if you have hairspray in it will burn badly. If they do let you get a straight iron get a chi. they are the best in the market!!!!
i use a flat iron almost every day, usually on the highest setting. my hair hasn't burned yet and in fact looked very nice today. sometimes it smells like it's been burned, but it looks fine. if you use the right shampoo-conditioner combo, it turns out fine. and besides does your mom use a curling iron? if she does theyre basically the same and if it doesn't burn her hair a ceramic flat iron definetely won't burn yours.
If you use it to much.
yes if it is just ceramic coated...i dont think u should it on more than 350 degrees either
they are better than metal ones..but eventually you'll get addicted to them, and further down the road they will damage your hair..you'll get split ends, and when you wash your hair and let it airdry you'll see the difference. if your gonna use it, dont do it too often. i speak from experience..
Some times it does my friend uses one alot and it burns her sometimes but not all the time
Actually, ceramic is the best to get.
it only gives you spilt ends just get your hair cut regulary [once every three months] %26amp;%26amp; it wont damage your hair
Cermanic straignteners don't burn your hair they might give you split ends but that is nothing a little hair cut can't fix!
Actually my hair has been healthier since I've started using the ceramic flat irons. There is a temperature gage on them that you can set if that helps. I have not burned my hair yet and I keep mine set at 400

sedu works wonderfully on my hairWhat ceramic flat iron will straighten my naturally curly hair without my blowdryer?
i have a sedu flat iron and i have very curly long hair aswell. it did cost a little over a hundered but i've had it for a little bit longer than 2 years, and most flat irons dont last that long (from experience). And my iron works wonders! just let your hair air dry and straighten it at night, fall asleep, and just do a touch up in the a.m

try- www.folica.com, thats where i ordered mine from
I tried the Sedu, the Chi and the Solia--the only ';top of the line'; iron I haven't used is the GHD...

But the Sedu was CRAP. Left my hair dry and frizzy. I HAD to blow dry my hair to use it. AND Folica owns the Sedu...that's why it has so much hype.

The Chi was alright, but as it got older it didn't work as well. It's not a very high-quality iron...

Get the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium...It's amazing. If you go to Folica.com...you will see it has better ratings than the Sedu, yet the Sedu is still the ';best iron';...Why? Cause Folica owns it...and Folica adds fake reviews to promote it.

But yeah...The Babyliss keeps my hair super straight, and it doesn't curl even when it's humid/raining.
    Sedu (:

they are all bad for your hair. just protect it by putting some hair serum in it before. also use some anti snap from reken this helps it from breaking.
No. Flat Irons are Flat Irons, and heat is heat. No matter how much they cost, They will ALL be damaging to your hair.

  • Is there a ceramic flat iron that will straighten your hair while it is stil wet?

I saw this lady using one at a salon on my cousin's hair and her hair was wet and she straightened it very fast. The hair wasn't pouring wet, but it was still a little more than damp. I have always wondered if there was one in particular that was good at doing this.Is there a ceramic flat iron that will straighten your hair while it is stil wet?
I have a Chi. I don't use it on my hair wet, but my sister does. Her hair looks great after she uses it. I know people are talking about how flat irons break and dry your hair out, but using the right shampoo can help. Also try getting an iron guard, and spray it on there before you use it on your hair. I use CHIs Iron Guard, and my hair doesn't look fried. Is there a ceramic flat iron that will straighten your hair while it is stil wet?
i have a wet2straight flat iron and it straightens my hair really good while its wet and dry. it also heats up really fast.
You can use any ceramic iron on damp hair but i wouldnt recommend it when you do it damp you are pulling out the moisture to fast causing more damage.. get a straightner protective sealer that you spray on each section before you straighten it will prevent damaging paul mitchell has a good one GOOD LUCK!!
Yes there are- my roommate has one. Hers is Remington Wet to Straight from Meijer. I don't know how good it is for your hair, but it works GREAT!!!
alot of beauty supply stores that carry flat irons has the one that can straighten while wet, try sallys, sephora I also seen one at Dillards today.
they are actually very bad for your hair and the reason a lot of girls get breakage. when you use anything hot on wet hair it blows open the cuticles of your hair allowing more it to tangle more often and collect product which can dry your hair out, if you want to know more i'd be more than happy to respond to any message you send

No probs i straighten my hair everyday and it is almost all the way down my back... the shorter ur hair is the easier it is to do it but u can do it with long hair, do it by sections though it save time and u get better resultsI have medium long hair, can I use a ceramic flat iron with success?
if your hair is medium length, there is no way it can be too long. and even if it is long, you can flat iron it. might take longer but its 100% doable
    Of course.
unless its super short, length shouldnt be an issue

No! Unless your iron is intended for wet hair only use it on dry! It will break the ion and make your hair very dry %26amp; damaged! Is it a bad idea to use my ceramic flat iron on damp hair or should I just use it on dry hair? ?
You can damage your hair when you use a flat iron on wet hair. Apply a good product first before drying it. This is a product I recommend.

    http://www.paulmitchell.com/Products/Pau鈥?/a>

If you don't use a protectant than you can damage your hair by drying it out. Don't use a flat iron everyday. Make sure you do a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week.
lol I do, but it is bad, because when your hair is wet, its much more vulnerable, which means it can break and get split ends easier.

try blow drying your hair a bit first.

I would also try some protective products on your hair if you are going to continue doing the wet flat iron thing. I use Kenra PlatinumHot Spray: Protect %26amp; Finish, it comes in this silver bottle.
Well using a flat iron on damp hair is definatly no the best idea...u dont want your hair to get damaged do you? To maintain healthy gorgeous hair always use heat protectant and only flat iron or straiten hair when it is dry. And it depends what look your going for. If you want to scrunch your hair and give it that natural wavy look apply products when hair is wet and scrunch. If you are going out to a dinner party or special occacion put products in dry hair before styling to make hair easier to work with, fuller, shinier or whatever. :) hope this helps! :)
flat iron on wet hair damages it and after a few times the hair falls out. use it on dry hair.

hair products like spray and frizz dry but it wont hurt your hair if you put kit in when its wet it just wont work
In reality the best thing is not to use it all. But If you do use it. Put a product in your hair that will protect your hair from the heat and then dry your hair and then straighten.
If your hair is damp it will frizzle and make it look worse.

Use it on dry hair only please.
If you use it on wet hair; you will damage your hair soooo bad.

ALWAYS use a flat iron on dry hair only!
    use it on dry hair!

    yes, it matters.

it will make your hair look BAD.

but only if you use it on damp hair.

    :)
    dry hair is better

  • Hey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?

is it possible?Hey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?
u can braid ur hair into different sections then go over the braids with ur flat iron,go over it a couple of times to make sure it will crimp, then just undo the braid, there ya go, easyHey how can you get crimped hair with a ceramic flat iron?
no you have to get a flat iron that has that part that crimps your hair you can get it at any beauty store. i used to have one that only cost $20.00
I crimp my hair with my flat iron, though I dont know if you'd say crimp or wave, it's more of a loose crimp. But what I do is, just like flat ironing, grab a small section of hair, start from the top and hold on to the bottom of you hair, you have to keep going downwards the whole time, but as your going down, right from the beginning, move the iron outwards away from your head then curve it back in towards your head, then curve away, then curve back until you get to the bottom (move your fingers of course) and your done. Then put in some hairspray to keep it like that. But do some practice first you probably won't get it right on your first section, but you should be able to get it on your third or fourth try atleast. Good luck.
There are such things as crimpers, if those are still around. Or just braid your hair when it's damp before you go to sleep
i wouldnt say so..i would use a wave iron or a crimper

Ceramic hair flat iron vs non-ceramic: what's the difference.?

...Ceramic hair flat iron vs non-ceramic: what's the difference.?
Ceramic is the new technology. All hair stylist prefer it as it gives better results and makes the hair look shinier. It is also said to cause less damage to the hair because it distributes heat across the hair evenly instead of the heat being concentrated on one area. But of course that doesn't mean it won't cause any damage. But the damage might be less.Ceramic hair flat iron vs non-ceramic: what's the difference.?
ceramic helps keep the moisture out. ceramic are the best straigteners. my mum's a hairdresser and always recommends ceramics, especially GHD's.

Ceramic flat irons do not damage your hair. non-ceramic really hurt your hair.

Even with a ceramic one you should use heat protectant spray or just shine serum such as ';kenra shine serum, weightless polish';.
ceramic makes your hair shiny and nice and doesn't burn your hair and non makes it burn and it doesn't look as good
    ceramics work a lot better!

How to Straighten your Hair With a Flat Iron

http://homebeautytips.blogspot.com/2007/鈥?/a>Hair growth and ceramic flat iron tips please?
gelatin don't work. You need to keep you hair trim and free of split ends that will help it grow and taking Vitamins will help as well. When you use a flat iron you need to use a thermal protection spray. (CHI 44iron guard is a good one.)
The gelatin thing is an old wives tale.

Keep your hair nourished and strong with good shampoo and conditioner so that the ends don't snap and become shorter.

I'm afraid there is no way of making hair grow using any products that claim to do this. They are just promoting healthy growth and balancing oils but they don't necessary make your hair grow longer. Just stronger.

If you're going to use straighteners daily then you'll need to get some strong heat protection for your hair such as Lee Stafford Poker Straight products, I recommend the shampoo, conditioner and spray:

yeah that straightener was the worst. i TOTALLY agree with the other person ~ i got the remington wet to straight and it makes my hair soooo straight. so get that oneDoes anyone know if the Conair Infiniti Professional ceramic flat irons straightens hair well?
It does. It uses steam so it doesn't completely fry your hair like most straighteners but it's pretty darn good. Your hair stays straight for a while and doesn't go wavy/frizzy as much as the other straighteners. Overall, the Conair Infiniti has been reliable and a good buy.Does anyone know if the Conair Infiniti Professional ceramic flat irons straightens hair well?
    i personally dont know

but if ur gonna get a straightener

get the remington wet to straight

it can straighten hair while its still wet

and it has little holes in the top to let steam out so it doesnt crush ur hair and leave those ugly creases

it also doesnt dry out the hair as much

Before I had a power surge in my old apt. and it broke my flat iron, lol, I was in love with my WIGO, it was about $80 I think and it was the perfect flat iron. Now that it broke I bought one for like $30 at Sally's, I dont know the brand but I dont really like it, my hair always gets caught in the gaps in it and it doesn't get as hot as my wigo. I don't know if I would spend $200 but I wouldnt spend only $30 again. I'll deal with this one until it breaks though. What is a really good ceramic flat iron for really curly hair?
The CHI iron is the best professional iron you can buy, but you WILL pay at least $150 for it upto about $215. the ceramic plates heat up faster and hotter then any other brand and it doesn't comprimise the hair. It really does make a difference on the kind you get. There's also a trick to straightening your hair. the CHI has rounded edges so when you pull it through your hair you tilt it a bit to bend the hair...it still comes out straight but the ends wont frizz out on you. It's also a good idea to use silk oil drops in your hair before hand to keep your hair looking smooth and shiney......

Does a ceramic flat iron Damage my hair?

I bought a Chi Nano ceramic flat iron and was wondering if it will damage my hair over time? I use about every second day! Thank u!Does a ceramic flat iron Damage my hair?
The CHI is not 100% ceramic plating so it will DEFINITELY damage your hair. I had one and it dried out my hair, not to mention split ends! XD I found one that had freaking 6 splits in it! If you keep using it be sure to hair protector cream and apply it before you use the flat iron. (But that's the only thing you should use in your hair before straightening it.)Does a ceramic flat iron Damage my hair?
every sec wow don't want to damage your hair or fry it and get split ends make sure you are good to your hair when the day is over and give it a good shampoo and conditioning
Yes! You must be extremely careful when using it.
the ceramic is the worst... it might be the fastest and the best but it burns your hair more than the others. make sure you use a serum or oil special for heat protection
yes they all damage the hair to an extent. you should only use it when you really really need to!!!!!

What are the benefits of using a ceramic flat iron on ones hair than metal?

Metal flat irons catch on hairs and pull on them creating more damage and usually causing kinks that need to be re-ironed...causing even MORE damage. Ceramic irons heat up more evenly and are much smoother and usually only require one or 2 passes depending on the type you buy.

You should always use a protective heat spray when you use styling tools. What are the benefits of using a ceramic flat iron on ones hair than metal?
Metal just burns you hair, you might as well hold a flame to it.What are the benefits of using a ceramic flat iron on ones hair than metal?
more efficent and better styling results
Apparently it easier on the hair itself and gets hotter. I recently bought one at the advice of my stylist and I love it - it only takes one pass to get rid of the frizz.
It is safer for the health of your hair. Also use a protective serum as well.
Ceramic ones tend not to burn your hair and leaves your hair super shiny....the metal ones damange your hair a lot. I got a ceramic one and OMG I luv it it was worth spending the $100+ for it. =)
Ceramics make your hair straighter and evenly distributes the heat! Ceramics also work better on African Americans hair than your typical Golden Hot Brand.

What countrys does the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition)?

I am going to England, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Greece, and i would like to know what countrys that this flat iron works in, so i can see if i should buy it or not. What countrys does the Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition)?
Voltage and frequency are the same all around Europe (220/240 V 50 Hz); plugs may be different according to the Country, so you may need a plug adapter. The only difference between Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (Euro Edition) and Sedu Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron Hair Straightener (UK Edition), for instance, is just the plug.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?

Hi, i have super curly hair. My hair is very fizzy, its dry, and very very curly. I use Conair Ceramic Flat iron, but it doesnt help. I usually straight it at night, and in morning my hair get all wavy and curly again due to which i have to straight everyday. Does anyone knows which is the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair? I dont use any kind of product or anything before or hair i am done straightening, should i be using one ? What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

What the best ceramic flat iron for curly hair ?
Ok i have super curly hair and here is my advice.

CHI works really good, you can get one on ebay for $60, a little more in stores. Another iron I have found to work really good is a T3 Tourmaline wet/dry iron. I kinda like this better than chi because it makes my hair super silky and straight. It really feels silky. But its a little more expensive if you cant buy from ebay. On ebay you can get it for around 60$, but in stores its around $200+/

You need protectants when flat ironing. Of course conair doesnt work on curly hair, they are the worst possible iron you can get!

So you need a heat protector and serum. I recommend Redken Smooth Down, but if you need something cheaper try tresseme. Good luck!
You need a better flat iron for one thing. I also have curly hair and use a hot tools flat iron, they aren't expensive if you look online for them. Also, don't straighten your hair right before you go to bed. It's for sure going to be messed up when you get up in the morning unless you use lots of product like styling spray or a smoothing cream. I recommend washing your hair before you go to bed, when you wake up, you will have some natural oils on your hair at will help protect it from the heat. It should straighten pretty well in the morning, and hold all day without product. if you want better hold around your face, use hairspray.
Hello Shaney, I'm a stylist and I have super tight curls! First, conair is not a brand for us. What you need is a ceramic or tourmaline straightener and blow dryer. You don't have to get the blow dryer but it does help. Use a shine serum or heat protecting mist before you straighten to decrease the frizz. At work I have a Ceramic Pro flat iron. At home I have a $15 Andis ceramic flat iron from Wal Mart and it works just the same. That thing is super awesome- just don't turn the heat all the way up. When you first buy a new flat iron, use it at the lowest temperature and then go up until you find the right one for you. I hope this helps and feel free to ask me more!
    Hey

Invest in GHDs - they ARE the best on the market - I would not go to a salon which did not use them either. After you dry your hair, section it and spray with Wella flat iron spray then run irons through. Whatever you use to finish it isn't so important.

For these things it is better to pay more for a good product than buying 5 things that do not work.

Oh and use Fudge Dynamite reconstructor before your conditioner - it is amazing!!!!

    Hope I help!
    hey,

i too, have curly, frizzy, dry hair. and when i first started out straightening out my hair, i went from conair, revlon, vidal sasoon, all the brands found at the local wal mart. and then i got my hair done at a salon, where they used the Chi straitner. its over a hundred bucks, and didn't really like it. but i use this one, called Tourmaline Series by Jilber en Paris. My roomate gave me her old one, and its the best one yet. it cost about 60 dollars but well worth it.

and as for the products before and after, definately.

Like, if im gonna straiten out my hair the next day, i'll shampoo, deep condition, comb my hair( because regualr bristle brushes damages the ends so use combs when hair is wet) and try to put a hot iron protectant. I use Chi Silk infusion, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum which smells really good. And, i can usually leave it strait for about 3 or 4 days before it starts getting greasy from the products. but i use to have the same problem, waking up to wavy hair after i just spent an hour the night before straitening it.

    i hope this helps

Oh! and always deep condition when u decide to wet ur hair, it'll help!
Conair is a CHEAP brand. a Revlon is okay but try CHI. It's really good but expensive. Or try a Remington flat iron. Works relatively well and at a pretty good price. Like $60?

And I also suggest getting this heat protective spray for your hair. It's really good. Get like a CHI one or a Tresseme one. And use leave in conditioner after you shower so it won't be so dry. Mostly put some on the ends. Hope I helped!
    try folica.com

    it cermatic and tourbline:

    http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1鈥?/a>
    a Chi Iron.

Also super skinny serum from Garnier is great, or Salerm silk protein.
babyliss pro ceramic flat iron..its a little pricey but its well worth it...i can straighten my hair in like 20 min max. and mine is very long, thick, and wavy.
DUDE I HAVE THEEE SAME PROBLEM

    yeah, i recommend a heat- resistant...stuff

spray, cream, whatever it comes in

protects cuticles from heat and leaves your hair ina better shape
    cortex

    -RRZ
THE BEST is chi, 2nd is hia
i would suggest GHDs but they can cost a bit, but are well worth it in the long run

  • How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?

I have a fairly new flat iron (1.5 width) that has the gold plated ceramic hot pieces (for total lack of a better phrased description). Apparently I should have wiped it down after every use but I didn't so the plates are dirty and are not working as best they could. How can I clean the plates properly and effectively? I've tried rubbing alcohol and plain soap and water. none seem to work. i wanna clean it properly ASAP to avoid further build up and total product replacement. Hairdressers use these things all the time ...anyone know? No cleaning instructions were provided w/the product. How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?
they make flatiron cleaning solutions. you should look for it at places like Ulta. How to properly clean a ceramic plated flat iron/hair straitening tool?
take very lil shampoo n put it on n old tooth brush make sure its unplug of course do circlor motion and use a damp rag to wape off the excess
make a paste with baking soda and water and clean with that. You can also us hair relaxer.
i have a friend who runs a fantastic sams.. she told me to clean curling iron with hair spray....while the iron is hot spray a little on and wipe off with a terry cloth or an old towel careful not to burn yourself.... that might work for yours.. maybe try a q tip? spray the q tip and rub in the creases
Wipe it with a cotton ball dipped in alcohol. And I don't mean liquor.

I honestly dont know the con-air left my cousin's hair so soft and straight
i have a conair- wet to straight it works wonders.

    but dont straighten wet hair.
