Does putting your hair up to much cause receding hairline?

I use to straighten and blow dry my hair way to much because of my ';I want straight hair all the time'; phase (I'm 16 now). For the past few months I have just washed my hair, towel dryed (with air drying after) and put it up in a ponytail. I've notice that my hair in the front seems to be disappearing (or is my forehead getting bigger...) or maybe I am just overeacting.Does putting your hair up to much cause receding hairline?
I used to wear my hair up quite often when I was younger. If you wear you hair in ponytails a lot, you may add stress to your hairline. The edges of your hair are weaker and more sensitive than the ones in the middle of head. That is why when you color your hair it may seem that the middle takes a little longer to dye than the edges. But anyway, I would suggest, stop pulling your hair so tight, or if you insist on wearing your hair up brush lightly or softer around your hairline. If you wear your hair up when you sleep, it can also pull at night while you toss and turn if it is too tight. Receding hairlines are mostly hereditary. Your hair should grow back in those areas with time and care.Does putting your hair up to much cause receding hairline?
well if your wearing you hair up tto tight it may look that way but ur hair line might run in the family mine does and it sux and dont wear ur hair up to tight and all the time because it will brake hairs and you dont want that :)
If you pull it back tight all the time, you will start looking like a Japanese.
You'd have to like literally TEAR your hair out while putting it in a ponytail for the hairline to disappear. I doubt it's because of your ponytails.

But maybe you might want to just braid your hair everyday. A little time is needed, I know but if you're really worried or if you just have really delicate hair, it works well.

Though you may have curly hair xD
It depends on a lot of factors but pulling your hair back too often can definitely cause your hair to thin. receding hairline also probably. I think you are a little young for this to happen though. Its something that takes time to happen, like years. Also, make sure the ponytail isnt too tight. That makes matters worse. Everything in moderation makes your hair healthiest.
I think putting your hair up in a pony tail just pulls your the skin on your forehead back. I know it pulls out some hairs too... It's probably best to do loose ponytails or something though..
The ponytail my be a little too tight and it's pulling your hair out on the edges.
I am pretty sure it does cause a receeding hair line, i have no proof but i see some girls who pull their hair back everyday and you can tell their hair line is receeding
Genetics causes receding hairline.
yes it does. when you keep pulling you hair up, and it's too tight, you hair in the front gets pulled out. just try blow drying your hair down. trust me, iv'e been through experience.
i guess u have that feeling as ur eyes have gotten to se ur hair up high..fluffy so now its flat there fore u have that feeling! dnt worry! i am in teh same situation
i have been told that it does if you have it in a very tight ponytail ... a few years back i started to notice it too i used to wear my hair up and in tight ponytail all the time not i have bangs and tend to wear it down more.. but i dont think you are over reacting
