Take a few (good/close) pictures with a few different angles and wait about 6 mos and take some more with the same angles and compare them. Then do it again in a year. If it is receding it will be very gradual, otherwise you'd definitely know. OR look back to older pictures of yourself and compare them to your current appearance. Whichever. Good luck! don't worry about it too much though, stress will make it fall out faster j/k. If it is keep you hair shorter on the sides, it'll make look like you have more on top.

Measure between certain fixed points on your head every month. Check your family history, has this happened to your relatives?
your hair line should be straight at your forehead or slightly curved, google image what widow peaks are and compare them to your hairline
