I'm 20 and I have a bad receding hairline. Rogaine only works on the crown, it doesn't work on frontal hairloss. I have used shampoos since I was 18. My doctor won't give me propecia because he says it will mess with my ability to get an erection. I exercise regularly and do not use hair gel or wax. I might have elevated levels of testosterone but, I am not willing to take estrogen to combat the effect. Is there anything else besides surgery that would help me?Im 20, with a severe receding hairline. What do I do?
live with it or shave it offIm 20, with a severe receding hairline. What do I do?
Aw, I'm so sorry to hear that as it must really dent your confidence. I'd check with your doctor that it isn't Alopecia first. Would you consider shaving your hair off, it doesn't suit everyone but is very popular.
Other than that there isn't really a lot you can do unfortunately.
Try chinese medical herbs. One of the eastern remedies to combat hair loss is to eat black sesame as part of your diet. It helps in providing the nutrition for hair growth and heals the internal organs. Keeping your liver and kidneys healthy are important too, because when these organs work too hard due to heavy foods, they will not work as effective thus you will see the effects from outside your body, like bad skin, hair falling off easily, etc...
No
I say, go with it-- shave your head to hide the hairline! If anyone teases you, just remind them that you are raging with testosterone-- whats their excuse? You would not believe how many women think a balding guy is HOT! HOWEVER, what matters is what you think of your appearance so if surgery is the only answer then I stand behind that idea as well. All drugs have side effects and can be harsh on the body so contact a hair specialist and start getting quotes. Just realize that you can either embrace this as just a small part of who you are--and believe me--if thats your biggest problem your doing good-OR- you can obsess and ruin your day! Go with it, be proud!! My best to you!! OH, it may help you to also google up some pics of celebs who are bald and see how they are wearing their do, depending on what you look like may give you some idea of how to present your sexy balding head. Seriously, embrace this don't let it ruin your days!
Yep, just shave it. I started losing my hair at 17. I shave my head (ok, well buzzcut) every 2 weeks in the summer, and wear a ballcap all the time in the winter.
Just shave your head.
When you start getting older (over 18) then you realise that it happens to more people at an earlier ager than you previously thought.
When I was a child I thought that anyone who was bald must be over 60! But older people look at it defferently.
Read up on saw palmetto. Tell me if you think it's not a good option!
i used to work for the biggest hair loss clinic in aus, %26amp; its pretty much a sham. they make money on your self esteem. i started losing hair young and now im 32 and still losing it but ive learnt some other things over the years,1 it doesnt change who u r.2 hair doesnt do much other than sit on ur head 3. it really only matters if YOU make it matter. 4 you will never lose a girl because of ur hair
Hey go with it, you save on shampoo, can't be blamed for hair in the food, not mine. As one other said look it up many have hair loss. It is in the jeans some place along the line even your folks might have forgotten who in the past had hair loss, and no wearing a hat does not increase it or decrease it. I have had two frontal lobe brain surgery's however, I still have my hair it is slowly going away but for now it is there. No big deal considering how it could have been.
no forget everything dear this is heredity and No amount of money will help, Get a wig or just leave it at this point, Praise God for whatever is... and forget and enjoy.
