Does a receding hairline mean youll go bald?

Cause im going on 17 and my hair has receded slightly iving me a point in the middle of my head but no one in my familly is blad so is it possible its just a trait that i got during puberty like some of my facial features? or am i just kidding myself?Does a receding hairline mean youll go bald?
it may be an early sign but at this point and given your family history it could be that your hairline is just reshaping itself. if you are worried about baldness, you can check out this yahoo news article. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20080115/ts_alt_afp/ushealthmenbaldness

a simple online genetic test would help someone who is worried too much about their head.Does a receding hairline mean youll go bald?
no it dosnt you should be fine
no, my father in law has a receding hairline and he hasn't lost more hair for years now.
Yes it happen to me better younger that older. older people don't seem to be able to come to terms with it. any way at the end of the day it just means you have more terrestorone.
wul i'd say it might depend on how you usually have your hair

e.g if you wear it really tight and back

because i used to have my hair back alot

but in a tight pony, and i have a slightly large forehead

so it could be that but if not then i'd ask your G.P

because thats what i did, because i was worried to at the time

but she just said that its either off a family member

(but like you said no one in your family has that)

or she said it's the way i have my hair (tight back at the front)

or too much treatment to my hair, which is causing it to fall out

e.g hair straihtening, curling, hair dryer or too much products)

so id i were you i'd start having it in a quiff from now on

or if not then a side parting (if you already have one, then switch to the opposite side)

and hopefully that'll stop it going any further

but if your still worried then the best thing to do

is either go to a chemist and ask or doctors

you never know there maybe some product out there that could help.

Hope you find a solution.

: )
My dad has had a receding hairline since he was 18 and is now 51, but you can't really tell. My grandad had the same thing and I've heard that these things are hereditary. If you woke up and all your hair had fallen out would you really bother? Guys with short, short hair look really sexy no matter what age they are. Do you think you may be fretting about this too much? Stress doesn't help any bodily function sweetie. Give yourself a break and see what happens. If you're still worried then why not try shaving your hair just to see what you'd look like? You might be surprised............
Most likely to be your features coming out whilst your body is turning to manhood, go to the doc's and get a blood test and see what count your testestorone is at as this is one sign that its a bit low but it doesnt mean that it is so do not worry as this can be remedied with in weeks!
No it doesn,t. My mate had the same issue as u as a kid %26amp; his hair hasn't changed much in the last twenty years. So don't worry about it - stress exacerbates things.

Mind you - my mate has got uglier over the years...so use lots of moisturiser on your face.........Henrik!!
I think its genetic so if your mom's father is bald then you might go bald.
i doubt it very much that u will go bald, its mainly in ur genes if ur father has a widows peak its more likley that u have inherited it,
Not completely you will still have some at the sides which you can comb over.
Apparently to everyone i have a receding hairline and im only 14! My dads bald but he had very long hair when he was young. So i just hope it doesnt mean you go bald! lol
That point at the front-middle of your scalp is usually called a ';widow's peak'; and is pretty normal. Not necessarily a receding hairline YET.
Think you will be bald in the middle of your head by the time your 22, shave it all off and get used to it, you don't want to look like a monk
