So I am 18 years old and I have a slowly receding hairline, It is already a little bit noticable. At first I thought the people who cut my hair cut that area too short, but now I realize that my hair is thin in that area and is naturally short because it isn't growing as well. This is EXTREMELY depressing to me and don't know what to do. I have been massaging my hairline about 15 minutes twice a day and haven't noticed a difference. It kills me to look at my 50 year old dad and see him have a better hairline than me! I also have really really thick hair so it was completely unexpected. Please help me before this becomes a big problem. Can someone tell me anything that will help me in anyway to stop my receding hairline?
P.S. I get drunk and smoke weed every now and then, does this affect my hairline? If it does I will quit smoking completely and limit drinking.. I would much rather keep my hair than to get drunk or high. Thank You in advance, please helpReceding Hairline at 18?!?!?! Please help?
I am in the exact same situation as you. All my life, all my barbers have told me I have the thickest hair they'd ever seen. Now all of sudden at 18, my hairline is receding at the temples. The cause of hair loss is genetics (look at your relatives hairlines), stress, and hormone changes. It sucks but there's little you can do about it. The dermatologist I visited said there's Rogaine which sucks, or you can take these pills that block the supposed cause of hair falling out. The longer you wait, the less chance you have of regaining whatever hair you once had. I waited a bit to see if it was just a phase but every now and then when I check my hairline I see less and less hair there so I'm gonna try the pills. Life sucks sometimes.Receding Hairline at 18?!?!?! Please help?
Are you sure it's not your haircut. At some of the quick haircut places they sometimes will go to town with the thinning shears or with the straight razor to get the hair to lay in. Your health has a lot to do with your hair and skin. Try eating a healthy diet and living a healthy lifestyle.
Vitamins help supplement your diet some, watch your stress level and it wouldn't hurt to check with your doctor for their suggestions.
