Receding Hairline, will Rogaine for Men help?

my boyfriend just bought Rogaine foam, the thing is he has a receding hairline on the sides of his head but we were reading that its not for that only for if your balding on the crown...what will happen if he does use it? Any harmful effects or will it just not do anything? Also what does Rogaine do that it doesnt help with a receding hairline, but it works for balding at the crown (top of the head)?Receding Hairline, will Rogaine for Men help?
Rogaine is for male pattern baldness-balding on the crown. That does not mean it never works for growing hair in the front, it just is not what the company has the data compiled for. Rogaine is good for keeping the hair you have and restoring hair that has recently left-it is not good for growing hair on a ';pool ball';. Using it on the front has the same precautions as using it on the crown. I know it has worked very well for some people. Using it in combination with retin-a cream seems to make it more effective. You need to talk to a doctor to use the retin-a. Do good research, and best of luck.
